Timber Board Care Instructions
Washing
• Wash by hand ONLY!
• Never under any circumstance use the dishwasher
• Consider a quick rinse for light use
• Wash gently with lukewarm & detergent when required
• Wash the board evenly on both sides and all edges this will keep it from cupping
• Never submerge your board or allow it to sit in water
drying
- Immediately dry after washing with a soft towel to absorb the excess surface water
- Allow the board to air dry standing up or on a wire rack completely before storing
- Drying a bored evenly will be key to avoid cupping, twisting or warping
- Once dry return the board to its home
Storage
- suggestion is to store the board vertically on one of the long edges, this allows the airflow to both sides
- If stored flat on a counter, frequently flip the side facing up
- Exposing only one side to air will eventually cause that side of the board to dry out, this can lead to cupping
Waxing
- All our grazing Boards and Charcuterie Boards have been finished with a high Quality Beeswax
- we recommend that after every few washes you rewax your board to keep it looking fresh and clean this will also help it from drying out
- Apply a good even coat of Beeswax to all sides of the board and let sit over night or a few hours to let it soak in, and then polish off with a good quality microfiber cloth
- Once done return the board to its home
